Your hosts

Joe and Julie welcome you as personal guests to Palmlea Lodge & Bures.

These two captains sailed into Fiji to create this superb eco hideway. World sailors, they have logged more than 60,000 nautical miles since beginning their global bluewater cruising from Fiji in 1992.

The pair sailed back into Savusavu in 2004, dropped the hook and sold the yacht to make their home on Vanua Levu.

Palmlea Farms

Palmlea Lodge & Bures is part of Palmlea Farms.

The oceanside farm encompasses 40 acres of fertile meadows and mountain land.

Palmlea Farms organically grows tropical fruits, vegetables  and herbs for the Lodge Restaurant.

Boer goat breeding

The farm also operates a Boer goat farm, specializing in the breeding and development of the famous Boer goat.

Orginally from South Africa and imported from Australia, this goat is considered to be the finest and largest meat goat in the world.

Palmlea Farms was selected as "The Goat Farmer of the Year for Fiji" 2010 by the Department of Agriculture, Ministry of Primary Industries of Fiji.
